Gifts and Endowment |
| There are several ways that people in our community choose to donate to the library, by giving books and other materials, by donating money for materials or programs, by donating money for the Endowment Fund, or by donating time as a volunteer. | |||||
Donated items will be added to the collection according to subject need, currency of information, duplication of titles, and physical condition. Items not added to the library collection will be sold at the used book sale. Proceeds are used to purchase new materials. The library staff determines placement of all donated materials based upon the Collection Development Policy. |
General cash donations are used by the library to purchase materials or equipment, to provide special programs, or for other purposes to benefit the library and the community we serve. Specific designations will be accommodated according to need and applicable policy. |
| Endowment Fund Donations to the Perham Area Public Library Endowment Fund are deposited directly into the fund that is administered by the Perham Foundation with the West Central Initiative Fund. Funds donated to the Endowment are invested. Currently all interest is being re-invested as the fund continues to grow. In time, interest earnings will be used to support library programs and services. A gift to the Endowment Fund supports the future of literacy in the community. |
