The mission of the Finance
Department is to effectively and efficiently gather, interpret and prepare
data for studies, reports and recommendations to the City Manager, City
Council and department heads.
Responsibilities included within the Finance Department are:

Utility billing for water, sewer, natural gas, steam
and recycling.

Managing the supply of natural gas.

Receive and deposit payments.
-
Prepare and maintain accounts payable records.

Issue liquor and cigarette licenses.

Maintain assessment records.
-
Assist in preparation of annual budget.
-
Manage City investments.
-
Maintain tax increment financing records.
-
Prepare and edit the quarterly City Newsletter.
-
Prepare reports required by the State Auditor.
-
Manage debt service accounts.
-
Provide financial statements for monthly Council and
Committee meetings.

Assist in the preparation of the annual audit of City
finances.
